Another critical component the Enrichment program offers, are the academic learning centers. All the centers are aligned with the Ohio Academic Learning standards. The learning centers address the areas of English Language Arts, Math, Science, and Social Studies. Each day the learner will participate in two academic learning centers. The centers are set up in small group format with a lead instructor. The lead instructor differentiates all the lessons based on the individual learning needs. This format introduces the learner to the teacher lead instruction that simulates the school setting. Each academic learning centers incorporates, various manipulatives, learning materials, and various forms of technology. Each center has a common standard of focus but is addressed utilizing various learning modalities, for example; visual, tactile, auditory, and kinesthetic. Incorporating the various learning modalities promotes generalization of the skills learned. The academic learning centers are a great way to introduce the learners to the natural school setting.
