Behavior Managment

The behavior management system in place within the Enrichment program is a classroom wide token economy system. The Token economy system was designed to reinforce desired target behaviors that are observed throughout the course of the day. Some of the target behaviors include; correct responding, raising hand, eye-contact, and following directions. When the target behaviors are observed, they are reinforced through the delivery of coins. The monetary value of the coins are similar to coins they would use to purchase desired items in the community. At the end of the day the learner can purchase various items from the classroom store. The items at the store are priced at various amounts, this is to ensure the learner has exposure in counting all coin values. Some of the children may need additional behavioral support and may be placed on an individualized behavior plan. The interventions used will vary based on specific needs of the child. Some common interventions include the, differential reinforcement of alternative behavior (DRA), differential reinforcement of incompatible behavior (DRI), or the differential reinforcement for other behavior (DRO). The behavior management system within the Enrichment program is evidenced based and utilizes best practices within the field of ABA.
