Initial Diagnostic Evaluation

Initial diagnostic evaluations are completed by Dr. Knapp and a psychometrician. We utilize a two person team to better assess the child and presenting concerns. A wide-variety of psychological assessment tools are used to help determine if the child’s symptoms are consistent with autism and/or another disorder. The Center limits its practice to only evaluating those suspected of having autism spectrum disorder. However, with over 15 years of diagnostic experience, Dr. Knapp and the Knapp Center team also will help determine if a co-morbid diagnosis is present, such as ADHD, anxiety, specific learning disability, etc.
