Social Skills Group

The STEPS Social Skills Groups allow individuals with social deficits to learn and practice different levels of social skills with the aid and instruction of BCBA’s and their respective RBT’S. Groups are led by BCBA’s and advanced standing RBTs. Topics addressed in the social skills groups range from basic greetings and farewells to how to handle bullying and planning “get togethers” for older clients. Data is collected on behavioral targets in role-play scenarios and/or on comprehension questions regarding the topic to assess for progress. Students in the STEPS after school program go through the same curriculum, with the pace adapted for their current intensity of service.
