Many children have difficulty meeting the many expectations they face each school day. These expectations become even more challenging if the child is struggling academically, socially or behaviorally. The Knapp Center has partnered with various private schools in Trumbull, Mahoning and Columbiana counties to assist in providing the necessary supports to children who require 1:1 instruction to improve their academic and communication skills, social skills intervention to improve their interactions with their peers, and/or behavioral intervention to reduce problematic behaviors that interfere with their ability to function at their optimal potential within the typical school environment. The Knapp Center staff work collaboratively with the child’s school district to provide the level of support necessary to for that child. These supports may include individual ABA discrete trial training sessions, implementation of a behavior intervention plan within the classroom, and consultation services from a Board Certified Behavior Analyst. Our school partnerships allow collaboration of educational and behavioral resources in order to promote success for the child, while allowing them to remain in the least-restrictive setting.
